A Day in Nambe, NM
I belong to a plein air group and we all go out every Thurs. to paint. Thus, I have painted two miniature paintings that are oil on board and measure 6 x 6 inches.

Color - Tube Saturation Scale
Next we painted a patch of each tube color and place them in order from Neutral to vivid. These three assignments were then uploaded to the correct assignment space in my class and now, I am waiting to get feed back from my fellow colleagues and/or teacher. Wish me luck....
Next Assignment - Color: Tube Value Scale
Oh brother, had to do this one twice. I did not realize how difficult it is to just get black and white to mix into tints from 1 to 9. Then we had to take our tube oil paint and set it onto the value scale correctly. I did have to use a value finder. You know one of those red cellophane artist view finders. Hmm....not sure if I got it or not.
Today's Assignment
I said originally that I would share some of my art struggles. As I have mentioned, I am in a 3 year on line course that is really great. It's called Virtual Art Academy. My teacher is in Italy and my colleagues are from all over the world.
The first assignment was Tube Color Hue Scale and this basically consisted of us just making a color wheel. We did discover that there is not a true purple, therefore you must make a tint of purple from the tube. I seemed to be able to figure that one out ok.
